Home made crab cakes


  • 1 lb. lump crab meat
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ chopped red sweet peppers
  • 1-2 stalks of green onion
  • 1/2 cup mayo (I used dukes)
  • 1/2 pack Zatarans crab cake mix
  • 1 tsp old bay
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 spoon full of cocktail sauce
  • Less than a handful of Panko bread crumbs


Gently mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Please be gentle when mixing you don't want the crab to crumble: use an ice-cream scooper to portion crab cakes correctly. Pan sear crab cakes in olive oil, flipping every 2- 3 minutes. Place on napkin to drain excess oil. Serve.

Crab cake bites :

For bites: follow all mixing instructions. Once mixed, take a spoon and gently form bite size crab cake balls. Place on non-stick baking sheet.make sure they are not touching. Bake on 350 for 10-15 minutes.
